I’ve been a crafter as long as I can remember. Growing up with crafty parents, it really was inevitable. Some of my fondest memories are learning to weave while listening to audiobooks with my mom, learning to use the band saw to create wild Pinewood Derby cars with my dad, turning bowls on the lathe with my grandfather and sewing with my grandmother. This exposure to such a wide range of materials left me with the queer audacity to believe I can tackle any medium I put my mind to.
That may not be fully true (I’m useless with a pencil and paper) but it has been pretty accurate over the years as I’ve wandered from one means of creation to another. For a long time, it was all about yarn under the heading Mostly Harmless Designs. One pandemic burnout later, I’m between mediums again and finding ways to bring my weird visions to life.
